Your therapist may use his or her fingertips, knuckles, hands, elbows and forearms on the areas where you tension needs releasing.
For the best results, your massage therapist will use a combination of oils with massage strokes that are slower and deeper to that of a classic massage to cause friction and manipulate soft tissues including muscles, tendons and ligaments.
Your muscles will need to be relaxed and you may be asked to breathe deeply to enable your therapist to reach the deeper musculature.

During your pregnancy, regular massages can help you cope with discomfort as well as relieve insomnia, neck and back pain, joint pain leg cramping and sciatica. In addition, massages will encourage blood and lymph circulation, reduce stress on weight-bearing joints and help to relax nervous tension which can benefit your sleep.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage.
Lymphatic drainage massage uses gentle, repetitive strokes to facilitate the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is part of your body's immune system which can become sluggish due to our modern sedentary lifestyles. Encouraging the flow of the lymphatic system can increase immunity and help fight off colds and minor infections, as well as reducing water retention.
Ideally a lymphatic drainage massage should be carried out in a warm room. During the treatment, your therapist will use light, repetitive strokes to help lymphatic fluids drain in specific flows. The therapist will work their way up from your feet using a gentle pressure akin to pushing a coin along a table. They may also use soft, pumping motions in the direction of the main lymph nodes in the neck, armpits and groin.
This style of masage is usuful for people who suffer from bad circulation, swelling, are recoving from liposuction or lymphedema.
